A qari and two Quran memorizers left the country for Kuwait City on Tuesday to attend the international Quranic event.

It will be launched on Wednesday, November 13, and run until November 20.

Habib Sedaqat will compete in the Quran recitation category and Mohammad Reza Zahedi will vie for the top prize in the category of memorization of the Holy Quran for adults.

Iran’s representative in memorization of the entire Quran for children is Mohammad Hossein Malekinejad.

They have been selected to represent Iran in the international Quran contest according to their ranks in Iran’s National Quran Competition last year.

Since its establishment in 2010, the Kuwait international Quran contest, organized by Kuwait’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, has encouraged young people worldwide to engage with the Quran through memorization, recitation, and Tajweed.

This year; the five main categories of the contest are entire Quran memorization, memorization with ten styles of recitation, recitation, youth memorization, and a special category for the best technical project serving the Quran.

Judges and participants from 85 countries are expected, with 127 confirmed competitors from 75 nations.
